Liqueur , Vodka Bottega Gianduia “Chocolate Passion” Ingredients 1 oz Bottega Gianduia Hazelnut Liqueur 1 oz Sausage Tree Vodka 1 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream Raspberries (to garnish) Preparation Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Give these seasonal sippers a mix. Strain into a chilled Martini glass.

Whisky liqueurs are part of the reason we have modern-day whisky. Whisky liqueurs offer a smooth and sweet alternative to a single malt or a blend. Whisky liqueurs are also undergoing something of a resurgence at the moment. Add 1.5oz of chocolate orange liqueur to your glass of choice. Stir this up and give it a taste.

Like Scotch, Irish whiskey has a long tradition of aging in ex-sherry casks that hail from this part of the world. The ex-bourbon, American oak backbone of so many Irish and Scotch whiskeys today really didn’t become the norm until the 1960s. Back in the day, the wine would have been imported in casks.

Then banana flambéed, coconut… Then some high-end wine (great old Pomerol – no, not just any merlot)… Then chicory… Then lots of pineapple liqueur, Malibu, old Muscat wine. Nose: extreme beehive, wax, propolis, old papers… Mirabelle jam, quince jelly… absolutely brilliant. Bold, coating… Gets then quite smoky, with some mocha.

The texture and aroma are derived from its unique production from the blend of Grain and Single Pot still whiskey, as similar to the single malt whiskey (mash of malted and un-malted barley), small amount of Oats and wheat may have been used at time. As the Madeira cask earlier used to age the Madeira wine.

Then I get fresh seashells like ormers or clams, all kinds of dried fruits (no need to list them all), beeswax, old furniture, old wine, espresso coffee, chocolate, butter caramel, old orange liqueur… Stunning development! First I get leather and cigar box mixed with menthol, eucalyptus and old Tarragones chartreuse.
