Then banana flambéed, coconut… Then some high-end wine (great old Pomerol – no, not just any merlot)… Then chicory… Then lots of pineapple liqueur, Malibu, old Muscat wine. Bold, coating… Gets then quite smoky, with some mocha. Really breathtaking. Gets then buttery, with some crème brulée… Hay jam, apricot jam… Just an endless development.

The oldest official bottling of Macallan 12 Year Old single malt scotch (crucially, not whisky liqueur) that I can find was bottled by Marshall Taplow in the 1960s. As it was bottled under license from The Macallan, according to the label, we can safely assume that the whisky inside is single malt scotch.

Menthol, hazelnut oil, oxtail, prunes, orange marmalade, smoked ham, curry, mustard (hints), walnut liqueur. The saltiness grows bolder as well… No sulphur that I can get… Wood ashes, herb liqueurs (green Chartreuse – are you listening, O.?), Slight hints of phosphorus (although not like a ‘simple’ bunch of matchsticks).

The texture and aroma are derived from its unique production from the blend of Grain and Single Pot still whiskey, as similar to the single malt whiskey (mash of malted and un-malted barley), small amount of Oats and wheat may have been used at time. the barley then is dried in a closed kiln fired by natural Gas.

Whisky Espresso Martini Ingredients 35ml Organic Single Malt Whisky 20ml coffee liqueur 20ml Fresh Espresso 10ml 1:1 sugar syrup Method Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, then fill with cubed ice and shake hard for 12 seconds. Gently stir then garnish with a lemon wedge. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
