Most everyone I know already has their OOOs set for Spring Break and my world’s feeling fairly slow heading into this weekend, but I do have a barrel-aged Odd Side stout with hazelnuts and bacon in my fridge, so I should probably tend to that today, huh? The closure of Windmill Brewing was a big blow for the NWI beer scene, but there’s some good news: Brewer Jake Edwards has landed at Open Outcry , and they’re hosting a “meet the brewer” happy hour this evening. The busy brewery event summer continues this week. Nice to see. Tickets are on sale now.

Now on to some upcoming… This afternoon , head to Hopleaf for a special happy hour with Timmermans , the world’s oldest lambic brewery, as they sample a couple beers new to the US. The winner of Goose Island’s BCS Bracket surprised me ; I thought for sure it’d be Fourteen Stout.

” The 2024 event dates are Nov. 1-10 with the main event, the Capital of Craft Beerfest, set for Saturday, Nov. That event which features more than 30 local breweries plus live music, games and food trucks, and will be held in the backlot of Kilowatt Brewing in Kearny Mesa. Tickets start at $20.00

” You know what that means: 32oz pours of Imperial Stout, coming up! Not only is Taxman Brewing releasing a couple of special eclipse beers, they’re also hosting a representative from NASA and a couple of their telescopes for the event. Happy Hours might be coming to Indiana soon.
