The closure of Windmill Brewing was a big blow for the NWI beer scene, but there’s some good news: Brewer Jake Edwards has landed at Open Outcry , and they’re hosting a “meet the brewer” happy hour this evening. The busy brewery event summer continues this week. Nice to see. Tickets are on sale now.

Now on to some upcoming… This afternoon , head to Hopleaf for a special happy hour with Timmermans , the world’s oldest lambic brewery, as they sample a couple beers new to the US. The winner of Goose Island’s BCS Bracket surprised me ; I thought for sure it’d be Fourteen Stout.
