Because this week is already abnormal, here’s the full list of Oktoberfest events that I’ve rounded up over the past few weeks. I’m going to try to keep this post up to date as best I can, and we’ll continue to update you with other events that cross our inbox as well.
If you’re looking to get out and about over the next few weeks, the events calendar is still pretty dang full while breweries wait for warmer, more beer-friendly weather to arrive. Since we mentioned a bird-related event up top, it seems fitting to pass along this new Hidden Hand beer announcement, for a foeder lager called Waterfowl.
We’re not done yet — you can also check out over 100 beers and ciders at the Craft Brews at Lincoln Park Zoo event taking place on the 15th as well. The latter is a ticketed event and sold out quick last time, but it looks like tickets are available at the moment.)
The busy brewery event summer continues this week. You’ll want to be at this year’s Dancing in the Streets event on Aug 2-4, hosted by the Chicago Brewing District. On August 16th, Spiteful Brewing’s Cheeseburger And a Pair of Dice event returns after a four-year hiatus! Nice to see. Tickets are on sale now.
Alter Brewing has produced a special beer for DNC events hosted by JB Pritzker called JBeer. Brewery events have slowed down a lot this weekend for one very good reason: This Weekend: Great Taste of the Midwest takes place on Saturday afternoon with approximately 1400 beers available for sampling. I need an actual palate cleanser.
Watermark Brewing in SW Michigan is capping off a full week of anniversary events with a big party tomorrow, and then something that sounds real fun on Sunday: Balloon Animal Cleanup. And now, on to some very spooky… This Weekend: The farewell tour for Temperance Brewing starts tonight and continues through the weekend - with a final goodbye event back where it all started at Prairie Moon. Imperial Oak’s Days of Darkness runs now through Halloween Night, with lots of fun events and plenty of dark beers.
