The wines we are trying today make a strong argument for stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new grape varietals and regions — with all of these wines born in the country of Georgia. Credit: Westward Whiskey House Spirits Distillery, maker of Westward Whiskey , has initiated Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings as the Oregon-based craft distiller confronts mounting financial pressures. The company filed its petition on April 6 in Delaware under Subchapter V, a streamlined process designed for small businesses with smaller debts. It is hoped that this filing will allow Westward to continue operating well into the future.

Maker’s Mark has announced the debut of Star Hill Farm Whisky, the distillery’s first new mashbill and first wheat whisky. It’s meant to celebrate the role regenerative agriculture plays in creating healthier soil, better flavor and a more sustainable future, according to the distillery. Credit: Eden Mill Eden Mill has officially completed the commissioning of its new St Andrews distillery with both gin and single malt whisky now in production. The independent Scottish distiller filled its first cask – made from Scottish Oak – on Monday, April 7, marking a significant milestone for the company. The completion comes after 21 months of construction work following the June 2023 handover from the University of St Andrews.
