According to a regulatory filing, Pernod Ricard India has achieved the distinction of becoming the largest Indian spirit maker in India in terms of revenue, with a consolidated sales revenue of Rs 26,773.22 crore in FY24. Its rival Diagio-owned United Spirits has secured the second rank in this parameter. United Spirits Ltd (USL) garnered Rs 26,018 crore in revenue from operations for the fiscal ended 31st March 2024.

The Karnataka Wine Merchants Federation has called for a state-wide liquor strike on November 20th in protest against alleged corruption within the Karnataka Excise Department.
