Susegado, the first airport microbrewery in India, has opened at Goa's Manohar International Airport. The name is derived from the Goan word ‘Susegad’ which means relaxation. Susegado has been created through a partnership between local brewery Rising Tide Beverages, restaurant company Lane Nine Hospitality and Radiance, a wholly owned subsidiary of India Retails & Hospitality Private Ltd (IRHPL).

Packaged only weeks after harvest, these wines are meant to be consumed young, within months of purchase. I recently sampled the 2024 releases with Franck Duboeuf, CEO of Les Vins Georges Duboeuf, and son of the late, legendary Georges Duboeuf, who popularized the Nouveau tradition.

Is There Anything Else On The Market Like This? To the best of our knowledge, no. Certainly not a whisky distilled in Europe and aged in Kentucky. The closest comparison might be the Benromach Polish Oak release from around a year ago, but even that’s a stretch.
