Himachal hikes liquor permit fee for wedding

The Himachal government has doubled the cost of serving liquor at weddings and other ceremonies, increasing the permit fee from Rs 600 to Rs 1,200. As per the norms, after complying with the set procedures and fee payment, applicants will be eligible to keep six crates each of whisky and beer at the venue. For an unlimited liquor quota, the permit fee has been fixed at Rs 1,700.
