SC admits Pernod Ricard India’s plea on lesser penalty

The Supreme Court of India admitted Pernod Ricard India’s petition to reduce the penalty for crossing its permissible limits for loss of liquor in transit during imports due to leakage, evaporation and wastage. Accepting the company’s plea, the apex court set aside the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s order that upheld imposition of higher penalty on the matter.

It is open to bartenders in four countries – India, the UK, Italy and Thailand.
