I appreciate the concept of canned cocktails: being able to crack open and enjoy a cocktail just as easily as a beer. They’re exceedingly useful when it comes to stuffing ice chests and entertaining crowds. But often, when I sip a canned cocktail, I find myself wishing it was freshly made—except when I drink LiveWire canned cocktails. We had a chance to try their Cab Franc , which was quite good, and today we take a crack at two additional reds in their growing lineup. The whisky is a blend of three parcels of Canadian whiskies aged in different casks including French oak (red wine & virgin oak), sherry pipes (PX, cream, and amontillado), and casked Matsutake. The Matsutake cask was made by adding wild foraged matsutake mushrooms to a cask filled with BEARFACE whisky where it was allowed to infuse for 2 months.
