Is this an indication of a pivot away from hazy IPAs and pastry stouts? I only learned of its existence while scanning ILCC brewery license documentation (because that’s how I party) but I was never able to get to it on any of my trips to the city. Like, anywhere. That brewery is Pho No. 1 Brewing Co.
To document this growing movement and encourage more participation, I created Reducaholic , a resource dedicated to the craft NA beer scene. Their Blood Orange IPA stands out for its strong hop character and citrusy finish, with the blood orange flavor complementing the beer without overpowering it.
But nowadays beers ranging from stout to IPA — and even cold brew coffee — are available on nitro; bars even deploy special faucets on certain lines to facilitate correct flow, leaving the settling claim on shaky ground at best.
Brandon’s winning creation ‘Vincent and Gallo’ stunned judges with a combination of ITALICUS Rosolio di Bergamotto, homemade clarified sunflower seed orgeat , IPA, soda, and Absinthe. For further information on The Art of ITALICUS Aperitivo Challenge, please visit www.artofitalicus.com.
Pair that with Brewbound’s piece last month documenting their trip from 500bbls to 70,000 and you’ve got the makings of a new Midwestern brewery powerhouse. WBBM-AM visited Sketchbook Brewing to chat about their coaster art program , their new West Coast IPA and what product of their mixes well with Malort.
Examples include the Chefs Burger paired with Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA; the Blazin Burger paired with New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Juicy Hazy IPA; and the Truffle Crunch Burger with Guinness. Bar Louie will be pairing burgers with specific beers.
