The amount of 10th anniversary events emerging over the last few weeks have made me wonder: Was May-June 2014 the busiest time in Chicago craftbeer history? Waypost Brewing is hosting an evening of kolsch service in their beer garden on June 14. The latter is a ticketed event and sold out quick last time.)
For a few years, this was all the info we had about Demo Brewing in Ravenswood: A logo, a window, and a bunch of brick. With their Grand Opening today, we’d like to officially welcome Demo to the Chicagoland beer scene! Today, they open up the doors and welcome us all inside.
Here’s an update we’re happy to see: After many months of waiting, Demo Brewery has finally announced an opening date. Dovetail’s Sunday afternoon soba noodle demo is sold out, but you can still head to their loft at 4pm for a tachinomi (or standing bar) experience with Japanese-style beer service. Nice to see.
I know in my head that it was just last Friday because we have these poll results to look at…but it doesn’t feel like it: A majority of “I’ll get there at some point” kinda sums up a lot about craftbeer at the current moment, doesn’t it? Good work.
Demo Brewery got their door kicked in as well this week, and there are plenty of other businesses dealing with the same BS. Beers poured by them plus a demo? When I tell you that you can try a beer called “St. Sadly, at least two North Side breweries have been burglarized recently. Yes please.
Makes sense - they’re practically neighbors - and it’s an interesting way to think about what inspires a beer … like artwork by Georgia O’Keefe. The garage doors are open at Demo Brewing , where they have a couple of interestingly-flavored new clear seltzers.
Well, this is sweet (literally): Dovetail sent their new neighbors at Demo Brewing a cake on their opening day. Good news, Iowa: Beer from War Pigs will soon hit store shelves in your fair state. Alter Brewing has produced a special beer for DNC events hosted by JB Pritzker called JBeer. Looks like the Gov is at Centennial CraftedBeer & Eatery in River North today for the debut. Alter has a Pritzker beer; Minocqua has a Kamala beer; which Minnesota brewery wants to be the first to put out a Tim Walz beer?

Elburn’s group of Obscurity brands started with beer and mead, but now has rolled out a new line of ciders. It’s apparently pretty flat.)
How about a Dilla/Moor’s collab beer?) PorchDrinking profiles Demo Brewing as they finally open to the public. No pumpkin beer ever? Racket asks : “Did THC Beverages Save MN CraftBeer?” one of the state’s oldest craft breweries, is set to open a new taproom outside Columbus this week.

Demo Brewery has already added a couple of new fermenters to their facility. There are only a few more days to vote in CraftBeer & Brewing’s “Best In Beer” survey so go tell ‘em what you think. Carmel-based Moontown Brewing announced that they’re bringing a new taproom to Nashville.
