It’s a double-deck bar and restaurant outside and inside there’s a hot and sweaty club-type enviornment with DJ, dance floor and three-deep bar. The place goes off in a much more casual sense than the bars down the street, and you don’t need “club clothes” to enjoy it. While one is there, anyway.

Not only does it have the front area – the sign out front says Campus Party Store – but there’s a huge club in the back. Yellow Hammer Ingredients: light rum, vodka, amaretto, water and juices together. Twelve 25 is calm enough in the daytime but turns into a thumping club at night. That’s after one, mind you.

The lychee and its deep roots in Asian history were no exception, with Asian-inspired restaurants and club-staurants shilling them out by the dozens every weekend. We needed to attract some business, so we put the Lychee Martini on our happy hour menu. We opened right after Sept. 11 and the area was really dead.
