Westward Whiskey has introduced its first club release of 2025, Westward x Fort George Brewery Stout Cask. Westward’s latest expression builds on a nine-year history of crafting stout cask finished American single malts , with Fort George Brewery standing as one of its original and most valued collaborators.
In 2024, our reviews team tasted and reviewed 81 different American whiskeys including ryes, blends, and American single malts. At our inaugural Whiskey Wash Awards , 31 of these whiskeys were awarded medals, with some achieving Double Gold and Gold. You can find a full list of the medal-winning American whiskeys here.

When choosing a bottle of whisky to buy, you may often come across the term ‘cask finishing’. Whiskey can be ‘finished’ in a wide variety of casks including sherry, port, wine, and Mizunara. From Imperial Stout casks to Mezcal casks, there is no shortage of intriguing cask finishes with which to play.
