” DiMonriva’s Tip: Don’t overdo the bitters in this drink. A good rule of thumb is to look into the bottom of the glass and see how the bitters pool. If there is a small halo around the bitters you know you’re in the clear. If the bitters fills the entire bottom of the glass, you likely overdid it.

Based in South Africa, Abstinence Spirits makes a variety of non-alcoholic spirits and ready-to-drink products, with a heavy focus on various NA gins. The bold lemon peel note helps make for a natural pairing with tonic, but juniper character is surprisingly lacking, making this come across more like a flavored vodka than a gin.

The original Martini recipe also called for 2 dashes of orange bitters , although it fell out of fashion to include that ingredient for a while, and some dedicated Martini drinkers still go without.
