The inaugural whisky release from Isle of Raasay Distillery hit the shelves in 2020. The distillery has also produced Isle of Raasay Gin, which went on sale in 2019. R&B Distillers was founded in 2014 by Alasdair Day and Bill Dobbie, who quickly established the first legal distillery on the island of Raasay in 2017.

Since 2020, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ruled that distilled alcohol produced from gluten-containing grains can be labelled ‘gluten free’.

The SMWS opened its fourth UK venue and members rooms in January 2020, located at 38 Bath Street, Glasgow. SMWS Today The SMWS now bottles around 500 casks a year, diversifying its spirit range to also include single grain, world whiskies, rum, gin, cognac, and other spirits.
