Review: Wines of Carpineto, 2019 Vintage

Drinkhacker

Carpineto is a relative newcomer in Tuscan wine production, dating back to “just” 1967. Maybe an outlier considering the rest of the lineup.

Review: 2019 Famiglia Cotarella Ferentano Bianco Lazio IGP

Review: 2019 Sapaio Toscana IGT

Drinkhacker

A blend of 70% cabernet sauvignon, 20% petit verdot, and 10% cabernet franc, the wine spends 18 months in barriques and 12 months in bottle before release. An outstanding wine worth cellaring — or drinking immediately. Podere Sapaio’s eponymous Supertuscan is a standout from the moment you open the bottle.

Review: 2019 Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder

Drinkhacker

The bold wine benefits from having such a lengthy aging regimen — we’re five years out from harvest now — and it has settled down appropriately in the bottle as a result. Tart, lightly tannic, and round with black fruit, it’s a wine that’s really come well into its own. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon Mt.
