The youngest whisky in the vatting was distilled in March 2019, hence the 5 year age statement. The Ardnahoe Inaugural Release 5 Year Old is a vatting of whiskies matured in ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. This, combined with gentle peated loch water, lends a subtle smokiness to the coastal whisky.

The Orchard Cobbler is matured in a combination of shaved, toasted, and re-charred (STR) ex-Red wine casks, ex-American whiskey barrels, and Oloroso sherry casks. The ex-Red wine casks make up the largest percentage of maturation at 66%, 31% ex-American whiskey, and 3% Oloroso sherry. Orchard Cobbler is bottled at 48.5%

Since 2019, Nick Offerman has actively collaborated with the distillery to create the limited Lagavulin Offerman releases, selecting samples and designing packaging. In 2019, the first Lagavulin Offerman limited edition was released, exclusively available to the US market and distillery visitors.

So, we whisky fans knew that we would have to wait a while to see the fruits of the new Islay distillery. The Ardnahoe Inaugural Release 5 Year Old was distilled from barley with a phenol content of 40 ppm.

The distillery has also produced Isle of Raasay Gin, which went on sale in 2019. R&B Distillers was founded in 2014 by Alasdair Day and Bill Dobbie, who quickly established the first legal distillery on the island of Raasay in 2017. The inaugural whisky release from Isle of Raasay Distillery hit the shelves in 2020.
