The Aberfeldy 1975 25 Year Old Cadenhead Bond Reserve Welcome back to another installment of ScotchWhiskey Legends. The bottle in question is a true rarity from independent bottler, Cadenhead. One of the earliest examples of Aberfeldy as a single malt was in Diageo’s Flora & Fauna range, first bottled in the 1980s.
With around 300 different Blue Label bottlings, including limited editions and variant blends, Johnnie Walker frequently collaborates with traditional and contemporary artists to create distinctive, vibrant designs. Also known as ‘The Genesis Decanter’ the whisky signified a new chapter in Macallan ’s history, the start of production at the new distillery, and was the oldest single malt bottling from The Macallan when released in 2018. Only 600 individually numbered Genesis Decanters were produced, bottled at 42% ABV.
Dalgarno, who joined The Glenturret in 2019 following the distillery’s takeover by The Lalique Group, grew up in Speyside. The newest bottle in the series is The Glenturret Still Life Summer. Data reveals that the value of scotch whisky exports fell by 18% to £2.1 this year – the number of scotch whisky bottles exported every second fell from 40 in H1 2023, to 36 in H1 2024. The fall comes after scotch whisky exports topped £6 million for the first time in 2022. The volume of exports also fell by 10.2%
