Both are from the (current release) 2019 vintage. 2019 Paul Hobbs Pinot Noir Goldrock Estate – An intense Sonoma Coast pinot, filled with notes of graphite and minerally slate, informing a subdued core of plum and blackberry. Somewhat unexpected, but solid all around.

2023 Charles Krug Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley – Outstanding balance here in a sauvignon blanc that melds various styles with aplomb, mixing lemon curd with a gentle grassiness, some slightly floral notes developing as the more citrusy qualities of the wine let off the gas just a bit.
