R&B Distillers was founded in 2014 by Alasdair Day and Bill Dobbie, who quickly established the first legal distillery on the island of Raasay in 2017. The inaugural whisky release from Isle of Raasay Distillery hit the shelves in 2020. The distillery has also produced Isle of Raasay Gin, which went on sale in 2019.

The brothers have already proved their rowing capability; in 2020 they became the first brothers to row any ocean, and the youngest and fastest trio to row the Atlantic Ocean.
