This particular expression showcases spirit from the Port Dundas Distillery, which closed in 2011 after owner, Diageo, decided to shift focus to the grain whisky giant, Cameronbridge. Whilst the whisky is still a blend under the Blue Label umbrella, the contents is different to that of the standard Blue Label.

Named for Easter Elchies House, an icon of the Macallan Estate landscape, the Easter Elchies series (specifically the ones with the colored ribbons) began in 2008. Bottled from sherry butt #16946 at 59.47, the whisky represents one of just 550 bottles.
