60 years later, The Macallan Distillery released a special commemorative bottling, celebrating the anniversary of the historic event. This bottle is known as The Macallan Coronation. So, what was (and is) so special about this Macallan Royal bottling ? Each bottle displays a portrait of Elizabeth II.

The Bunnahabhain 1968 Auld Acquaintance The Bunnahabhain 1968 Auld Acquaintance was distilled on 31st December 1968, and bottled in 2002 in celebration of Hogmanay , one of the biggest annual celebrations in Scotland. It was bottled at 43.8% After all, it’s now become an ‘old and unobtainable’ bottling.

This Glen Scotia whisky was distilled in 1973 and bottled in 1999, the same year that Glen Scotia reopened under Loch Lomond Distillers following two periods of closure in the 1980s and 90s. There were two versions of this bottling release: one bottled in 1996 and one bottled in 1999. The new plant continued as Clynelish.
