Ohio-based Watershed Distillery has been making spirits since 2010, though this will be the first time Drinkhacker has taken a tasting tour of their bourbon. This release is aged for 4 years in Ohio-made char #5 barrels, which I found to be an interesting proposition.

It is said to have all started in 1845, with John Graves Mattingly’s first distillery, Registered Distillery #2, in Marion County, Kentucky. Some believe his distillery was the first registered distillery in Kentucky.

Hurd has been working on Priest Ranch’s wines since before the winery was even built in 2010. After working up the ranks, he became winemaker and has had the job for the last four years. Priest Ranch grows a huge range of grapes on its 1682 acres, but the focus is of course cabernet sauvignon.

The general response was, “No, you’re a cocktail waitress.” Not a woman, by the way.
